Railscenics offers a growing line of stunning custom photo backdrops. These are backdrops using images of prototype landscapes, trains, yards, cityscapes, and structures by renowned professional nature photographer, Gustav W. Verderber, to produce amazingly realistic panoramas and help create the illusion that your layout extends far beyond its actual, physical borders. Backdrops are printed with archival ink on durable, photo-quality, 27#, Premium Matte, Graytex paper. Most backdrops can be resized to accommodate scales from O to Z as well as to fit your available space. We offer both stock backdrops and custom compositions. If you choose to create your own custom backdrop, contact us and we’ll be happy to work with you to put together a unique and ideal backdrop for your layout. We also offer location photography to modelers interested in producing backdrops of specific locations (terms and conditions are the same as for photographing layouts) or you can send us your own photos of the scenes, equipment, and structures you would like to include in your backdrop. (Images must be on slides or minimum 6 megapixel digital files.) Guaranteed SatisfactionWhen you order a backdrop, your satisfaction is guaranteed. After scaling the backdrop and sizing it to fit your available space, we’ll send you a short section of the actual backdrop for your approval and to determine that the scaling is just as you need it. When we receive your approval, we’ll print out the complete backdrop and ship it. Sizing and PricingBackdrops are $10.00 per square foot. Stock backdrops vary in length from 3 feet to over 12 feet in length depending on the scene and the scale. Height also varies with the scene and the scale but the typical backdrop is 12.5 inches high, though we are capable of printing backdrops as high as 40 inches
